SYSTEM UPDATE — SCHEDULED is a series of short novels in which familiar narrative forms are absorbed into contemporary systems of control.
Each volume presents a contained environment—defined by rules, incentives, metrics, and procedural logic—that functions smoothly while steadily reducing human agency. Nothing is broken. Nothing is openly hostile. The system behaves exactly as intended.
These works do not retell inherited stories; they process them. Characters, conflicts, and expectations are routed through administrative frameworks that privilege optimization, prediction, and compliance over intention or meaning.
The antagonist is structural. It has no personality, no motive, and no need for justification. It operates through policy, optimization, and inherited constraint.

As the system learns their habits, grief, and fears, comfort becomes coercion and safety becomes obedience, forcing a psychic child and his mother to choose between a flawless, frictionless existence and the painful uncertainty of remaining human.
